Parenting is like being Barbie because you have to have every job under the sun. You have to be an urgent care nurse, ready to stop bleeding and clean up various fluids at the drop of a hat. You have to be a teacher, ready to answer questions about why the sky is blue and why does mommy have so many wrinkles. You have to be a taxi driver, shuttling them from after-school activity to after-school activity. You have to be a therapist, knowing the right thing to say when they get into a conflict with a friend. And you have to be a seamstress, knowing how to sow an ear back on a beloved stuffed bear. 

You have to do all these jobs while simultaneously working your own job, sleeping, and making dinner. It’s an uphill battle every day, and the work is often thankless. This is why parents need a little encouragement every now and again.
