Thanksgiving is next week, and if you’re celebrating, you’re probably already bracing yourself. You’re getting ready to spend 2 days cooking something that your children will probably refuse to eat, preferring store-bought dinner rolls. You’re preparing for awkward conversations with your family, and getting tired at approximately 3 pm. But it’s a beautiful time of year as well. It’s a chance for us to reflect on all the things we’re grateful for. We’re thankful for pizza bagels for feeding our children. We’re thankful for Sudafed for helping us fight through cold and flu season. We’re thankful for the teachers who take care of our kids during the day, and we’re thankful for parenting tweets for getting us through everything. Finally, we’re thankful for that bottle of Sauvignon Blanc waiting in the fridge.
We’re simple people. We only need a few things to survive. And this week, we’re taking stock of all we love and hold dear. Sure, the sun sets before dinner time, and it feels like 2 AM before it’s the kids’ bedtime, but he. Things could always be worse. At least we have these tweets.
