Are you a parent that needs a little tweet today?
It’s a busy time of year as a parent. The kids are in school, and they’ve already gotten sick once or twice. And sure, you’ve caught the bug from them. Now all they can talk about is Halloween. What they’re going to wear, or rather what you’re going to buy for them to wear. But Halloween is a great time to be a parent. It’s pretty adorable to parade around town seeing all the little pumpkins and all the little K Pop Demon Hunters. Both equally cute. It makes you remember Halloween from when you were a kid, when you just cut holed out of a sheet and called it a day. These days you’re wondering why you were so content to ruin a perfectly good sheet. Sheets don’t grow on trees, after all!
Middle age comes for us all (hopefully), and nothing will make you grow up faster than having kids. Having to be responsible for someone else’s happiness is a huge deal. You signed up for it, but you probably didn’t know exactly what you were getting into until you were two feet in. Parenthood has a way of sneaking up on you like that. One minute you’re young and fun, the next minute you have a favorite spatula and you’re sad when it’s int he dishwasher. But it’s good to grow up. It gives us a sense of progress and purpose. Plus, we can share that feeling with the people around us.
