Star Wars is full of quotes that would be better emblazoned on a senior quotes page or a government building than within the frames of a sci-fi franchise. For example, the famous «Do…or do not… there is no try,» spoken by the wise Yoda, is an almost more poetic version of Nike’s «Just do it.» Elizabeth Holmes’ (famously failed) company Theranos had that quote stuck up in the lobby of its corporate offices. Maybe not a ringing endorsement of it, but a deliciously ironic tidbit nonetheless. It inspired her to do… at the very least.
Star Wars has infiltrated our DNA as a culture on a molecular level. You’d be hard-pressed to find a conscious person who doesn’t know what a lightsaber is, or have at least a cursory understanding of The Force. Even if they think it’s from Star Trek, they’re at least on the right path.
