26 Baffling Design Choices Found in the Wild (March 16, 2025)

It’s a universal rule that when things are messed up, it’s funny. We laugh at misspellings, mispronunciations, and every type of mess-up in between. It’s not because we think we’re perfect. No, far from it. We laugh when things go wrong because we ourselves are fallible. We’re always messing up, so it makes us feel better when other people do it. We’re all just running around being problems and failing and it’s all okay because that’s what we do.

It’s especially satisfying when someone you think highly of (or thinks highly of themselves) messes up. Maybe you had a teacher in 5rd grade that got under your skin. She was constantly calling you out for being too chatty in class and not asking enough productive questions. Then, one blessed day while writing on the blackboard, she writes out «The Gettysberg Address.» It’s a slight enough mistake to go unnoticed. But you notice it. You raise your hand and say «Um, Mrs. Johnson? It’s with a u instead of an e.» And she crumbles, and you are left victorious.
