How much blush is too much?
Putting on makeup in the morning is a job for experts. We have spent years practising, and we have learned that flawless, steady hands are needed to apply just the right amount of eyeliner, and surgical precision helps when curling your lashes. Otherwise, you might end up looking like a bald raccoon. Admit it, you have poked your eye a little the first couple of times you tried this, as well. In all fairness, we still sometimes miss the lashes completely. We’ve all been there. Applying beauty products is a constant exercise of trial and error. Unfortunately, we get more errors than trials most of the time, but hope is the last thing to go out the window (the first thing is that one primer that makes your face look like rubber).
The story repeats itself on a cycle. You’re scrolling through social media and see an influencer trying a new beauty trend. To be fair, they make it look so easy. You save the video, you get the products, and you get all hands on deck. The first thing that happens is the constant urge to pause the video every 2 seconds, because it’s just going too fast. Then, when you try to replicate the tutorial, your hands start shaking, and eyeshadow stops working the way it’s supposed to. Suddenly, you don’t have enough brushes. After a while, and a package of makeup-remover wipes, you give up and go back to your usual day-to-day look, promising you will never try to follow one of those tutorials again. You know, until you find a new one the next day.
We don’t blame you. It took us years to get our skincare routine right, but now it is one of the highlights of our day. There is nothing better than giving yourself a little self-care moment and treating your skin with love and softness. Also, what better season to try new makeup looks than fall? If it all goes wrong, you can pretend the weird makeup look was the perfect complement for your costume.
