There’s nothing like being an introvert during fall.

Whether you live in New York, Los Angeles, or some random town in the Midwest, no one can argue that fall is the best season, especially for those of us who hate going outside. If I could, I would have stayed home all day, every day. But I have to admit, I do feel better about stepping outside my cozy home when I know I won’t be met with extreme weather, cold or hot.

That still doesn’t mean I don’t try to avoid as many social gatherings as I can. Fall, as mentioned, is cozy season. It’s the time of year to pull out the fuzzy blankets, crank up the heating, and not move an inch from the bed. We try not to think about work, money, or other mundane tasks, and simply immerse ourselves in the simple enjoyments of life, like good books or comfort movies.

So when someone asks me if I want to go out, I have already prepared a list of fall-related excuses to ensure I stay home and enjoy my time away from society. And after a summer full of activities and people, I know for a fact that I have earned this, just as I and every introvert out there have earned these memes below.
