27 Baffling Design Choices Found in the Wild (June 1, 2025)

It’s rare that something goes off without a hitch. You can prepare all you want for a certain project or event but inevitably something will go wrong. If you’re planning a wedding, at least one bridesmaid is going to forget her shoes and someone will have to make a last-minute sprint to DSW. If you’re putting up a show, odds are at least one lighting cue is going to get messed up on the first performance.

dIf you’re making a prototype for a new kind of spatula, odds are it’s going to stick to the pan on your first try. This is just the laws of the universe. Nothing goes perfectly. If it does, you should be scared. It means that something is coming up and you’re not prepared for it. But the answer to this is not to hold onto details so tightly that they crumble in your fist, but to simply let go.
