Mondays: the long-held enemy of many especially a certain lasagna-loving cat. When I worked in the service industry, Mondays used to be my day off, which felt… weird. Everyone else was off starting their weeks and I was just trying to chill. In a way, it was fun because it felt like a little secret, like I was free when everyone else’s misery began. It was also nice for getting stuff done, since the laundry room, grocery store, and whatever place I needed to haunt was a lot less crowded.

Now, Mondays for me hold a different power. It’s the quotidian horror of starting a new week of work, sure, but Monday also symbolizes the turning of a page, a chance to start over and really be the kind of person I want to be. Does that usually happen? Not quite. But it’s nice to dream. These memes will get us off on the right foot, though.
