Starting a craft always seems like a great idea. Maybe you saw the perfect painting on Pinterest that you were sure you could recreate, or a cozy crochet scarf in an Instagram reel that made you feel like an expert after watching it twice. The beginning is the most fun when you’re full of ideas, motivation, and delusional confidence. But somewhere around hour two, you’re questioning every life choice that led you to this moment.
My most recent obsession was embroidery. I got a little too ambitious and chose an expert-level pattern right out of the gate. Let’s just say it’s been sitting in a drawer, half-finished and slightly tangled, for about seven months now. And the odds of me finishing it are quite slim. But the odds of me starting a brand-new project the second inspiration strikes? Extremely high.
