Everyone keeps talking about the belief that many people (mostly men) hold that they could land a place if they needed to in an emergency situation. They believe that if it came down to it, they could do it. Couldn’t be that much different than parallel parking a Mazda on a busy street, right? I wonder if those same people hold this belief about landing a spaceship. Maybe the buttons aren’t that different. But if you found yourself in a Futurama-type situation where Leela (the captain) is incapacitated, could you drive that thing back to Earth? It’s more of a question about confidence than it is about anything else. How far are you willing to trust your instincts, and do you have faith in yourself to snap into gear when you most need to? 

I have very little faith that I could actually do either of those things, but there is a large part of me that wants to say yes. Because at the end of the day, I’m a believer in movie logic.
