Science fiction is almost too big a genre to mean anything specific. The category is so broad that it encompasses everything from low-brow (but no less incredible) animated shows like Futurama to highly-regarded, critically acclaimed joints like Arrival. It goes to show just how much there is to explore within the category. Elements of science fiction capture many creative people’s minds, and the results are as varied as they are interesting. By that same token, there’s something for everyone. 

I used to be somebody who thought I didn’t like sci-fi. I just didn’t feel like I connected with it as a genre, but I just wasn’t looking in the right places. Or I wasn’t thinking of my favorite movies in the right way. Back to the Future is just as much science fiction as Star Trek, even though they feel like very different viewing experiences.
