We are living in an Eras era presently. I’m not only talking about the Taylor Swift Eras Tour, though she certainly popularized the concept of an era, as did so many iconic pop stars like Lady Gaga and Beyonce. We live in a world where it’s not just fierce diva superstars who can have eras. Any rube off the street can (and will) say, «I’m in my black licorice era,» «I’m in my Mandy Patinkin filmography completionist era,» or «I’m in my tiptoeing through the tulips with Tiny Tim era.» An era doesn’t necessarily have to mark a particularly eventful or long period. Quite literally anything can be an era, and I encourage everybody to embrace this liberal definition of the world until it eventually becomes unusably passe. If you’re in your meme era, your Twitter era, your laughing your head off era, or your boredom era, these hilarious memes can and will be a part of that.
