These memes are wild cards. I don’t know what they want, where they came from, or why they’re here, but they’re here alright, and it’s our job to make them feel at home. It’s easy to feel suspicious and on edge about memes you don’t know, but there’s no need to fear. These memes seem friendly enough, and there’s no reason to act as if they mean us harm. I mean, we don’t know if they do or not, but come on. When was the last time a meme really harmed you? I’m talking about tangible harm that actually affects your life and doesn’t merely hurt your feelings. Unless you’re a maligned internet celebrity or the victim of a particularly cruel groupchat, I doubt that a meme has ever really ruined your life. If you’re okay with memes that are total strangers, these memes are sitting around and waiting to meet you.
