I feel like there is a false dichotomy between STEM people and Humanities people. What about architects? That uses both the left and right sides of your brain. Or filmmakers who have to know about how lenses work as well as how to tell a story. Or people on Reddit who are regular contributors to both r/TwoSentenceHorror and r/engineering. They exist, I promise.
Most of us need to use both the analytical and quantitative sides of our brain at once, otherwise, science would have no humanity and artists wouldn’t know how to use technology. All to say, we’re all scientists in our own way. Okay some of us are actual scientists, like for a living, but I’m also a scientist in that I left a container of leftovers in my fridge for so long it started to develop new life. Both are valid… I suppose.
