If you’re a Star Wars fan, odds are you might be a fan of other movies, books, and TV shows. Maybe you’re a Dune head, and you loved watching Timmy ride that sand worm. Maybe you’re a Trekkie, and you cringe when people think it’s the same thing as Star Wars. I feel like fandoms are always pitted against each other online under the assumption that each person only has one allegiance to one particular group. No, I’m all about intersectional fandom. It’s more fun. Then you can make Star Wars memes that only Severance fans would understand. Or Dune memes that only Friends fans would understand. Or Curb memes that only… Seinfeld fans would understand.
