There is something so compelling about imagining worlds different than our own. Our own galaxy can get boring. It’s full of the same old greed, corruption, atrocities, and boring human stuff like wondering you’re going to eat for dinner. Traveling is one form of escape from our immediate surroundings, but the more you travel the more you realize that we’re all the same. Everyone eats, everyone works, and everyone hates getting out of bed in the mornings. 

That’s why we’re so drawn to fantasy. Fantasy allows us to imagine a world different from our own. Perhaps it’s a world where you have super-human abilities and can smite your enemies. Or perhaps it’s just a world where everything is the same except some people have green skin. This is the beautiful thing about fiction. And Star Wars is a prime example of that. It’s a galaxy far, far, away that we get to explore whenever we want to. And it produces some great memes.
