Introverts everywhere struggle with the concept of a best friend mostly because that implies that there’s a person out there who you’d be willing to spend many hours with– possibly even days! For the socially awkward and introverted, it’s entirely unimaginable to have ‘best friends’ simply because we can’t tolerate human interaction for longer than 20 minutes without a physical recoil. Personally? I have three best friends: Me, myself, and I. 

Sure, introverted people have friend groups, work homies, and acquaintances, but with those relationships, we can happily waive goodbye at any moment and crawl away into our dark apartment to enjoy the finer things in life– like binge-watching Lord of the Rings again and brewing artisanal teas. When we’re in our own space, there’s no small talk, there’s no social precedence, and there’s certainly no bestie that could ever be better than the company of introverts hanging out with themselves.
