One of my most visceral sense memories from childhood was trying to use a slip-and-slide in my backyard. It was never quite as simple as they wanted you to believe based on the packaging. They made it seem like all you needed was a hose and a spirit of play, and you’d have all the fun of a Six Flags-level waterpark in your own backyard. 

It turns out, you need the perfect slope of a hill (covered in soft grass or preferably pillowy moss, or else OUCH), and enough water to totally lubricate the slide, or else you’re in for a plastic rug burn that rivaled the worst of sunburns. I still remember the feeling of my skin skidding against the plastic. Ah, good times. The good thing about these memes is that they’re just as much fun as a slip-in slide without the real risk of personal injury.
