It’s so easy to be negative about everything in your life, but it’s worthwhile to acknowledge when you have a good thing going! I’ve got a job I love, an apartment I’m obsessed with, lovely roommates, wonderful friends, a slightly all-consuming recreational sporting hobby, and a great family. While I could focus on the negatives (I’m not in a relationship, I’m pretty sure I have endometriosis and the disease where you pull your hair out), why would I? There are so many positives that outweigh the negatives, I’m not going to sweat about it. I used to think that constantly focusing on the negatives in your life was the best way to motivate yourself to improve. That might make sense in a 19-year-olds brain, but if you can never win no matter how much you improve, then that negativity won’t be sustainable.
