One of my favorite ways to engage my mind is reading. It can easily take me from «no thoughts, head empty» to «some thoughts, head half full» in a matter of moments. The hardest thing is figuring out what exactly I want to read. Sure, I could buy 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die and try to get through the list, but I’m already doing that with movies, and I can’t handle more than one list at a time. My main problem is that so many new books that get published these days are kinda boring and lame. I know that sounds contrarian, and it might be, but I cannot trust the divas over on Booktok (the reading side of TikTok) to recommend me anything worth the time of day. It goes in one ear and comes out the other, which is why today, I’d rather spend my time-consuming funny memes.
