As land dwellers, it’s easy to forget that there’s a whole other world out there, under the sea. There are hundreds of thousands of species of fish, coral, and other impossible-to-identify microorganisms and relics of the Cambrian period. It’s a whole separate ecosystem to our own The world is mostly ocean, after all. 

Scuba diving is as close as we can get to experiencing that world firsthand because alas, we do not have gills. We can also visit aquariums, but I’m usually too busy at the dolphin show to learn anything significant about the other realm. I guess that’s why that billionaire built that submersible, but we all know how that went.
