We’re a couple weeks from the release of Denis Villeneuve’s remake of David Lynch’s kooky Dune. The 1984 adaptation of Frank Herbert’s novel, while arguably less wild as what Alejandro Jodorowsky had originally imagined, has become something of a weirdo cult classic. It’s no surprise that Lynch fans are skeptical of the remake – it feels much more mainstream, and stars big names such as Timothée Chalamet, Jason Momoa, and Zendaya.

While we do love the original, we’re suspending our judgement until after the film’s release. Especially because Villeneuve’s impressive resume (Sicario, Bladerunner 2049)  is nothing to be scoffed at. That said, we’re very pleased to report that memes of Lynch’s sci-fi adventure are very much alive and well. We’re hoping that hardcore fans will enjoy these humorous nods at the film, and also hoping the remake influences similarly funny tidbits. What’s a movie these days if it doesn’t inspire a couple unintentional laughs?
