Remember the «conscious uncoupling» of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin? Well, there’s a new way to describe the dissolution of a relationship, and it has arrived thanks to Elon Musk and Grimes. The couple announced today that they are now «semi-separated,» but dedicated to co-parenting their one-year-old son, X Æ A-Xii Musk. 

Musk told Page Six that «We are semi-separated but still love each other, see each other frequently and are on great terms,» and explained that working in different states and all the travel had put strain on the union. While it’s hard to feel particularly connected to a billionaire and/or an extraterrestrial pop musician, we are really, really going to miss the memes they odd couple inspired. Luckily for us, Twitter comedians are getting the jabs in while they still can, roasting both the relationship and the breakup – sometimes at the expense of poor child.
