‘He Thought Halloween Was About Pretending to be Someone Else. He Never Realized He Spent the Rest of the Year Doing That’: 17 Hopecore Memes to Kick Off the Workweek After Halloween on a Sweet, Hopeful Note

The post-Halloween hangover. Why do I come up with my best costumes only after the party?

Now that Halloween is over, I come up with the best costume ideas. Of course, that had to happen the day after all the celebrations ended, right? Now I have to wait for an entire year to wear them, while they slowly become less funny or I simply forget them.

I don’t know about you, but I never get invited to costume parties outside of Halloween, so I literally don’t have any other occasions in which I could use my ideas. I guess I’ll have to throw the parties myself or wait until next year. Meanwhile, I can channel all my frustration into decorating the house for the upcoming event: Christmas!

I know I haven’t properly made it through half of November yet, but I need to get my hopes up, and at this point, anything will do. I’ve never thought about how much festivities keep us going, but they do.

There is something so cozy about turning your home into a little festive universe. Putting up decorations, hanging Christmas lights from the ceiling, and sipping hot chocolate next to an imaginary fireplace. I like turning my home into a little sanctuary that makes me forget I have eight hundred emails to answer ASAP.

This is exactly why I put together a weekly hopecore meme list, because I need this type of cute hope to keep me going until the end of the year. It’s about allowing ourselves to get excited about the little things: a new holiday season, a cute outfit, hot chocolate next to an imaginary fireplace.

If we don’t get excited about those things, what are we getting excited about? There are not many huge, life-altering events in life, so in the meantime, we should find reasons to be excited regardless.

So, as we power through another workweek, let this meme list be a reminder that, in life, not everything is about obligations, meetings, emails, and bills; some things are about holidays and cute little events and decorations!

I don’t know about you, but I get pretty anxious around Christmas and New Year’s, and I also like planning ahead for that reason. It gives me a sense of peace and control. If I plan and get myself ready for the event, it feels like I’m slowly digesting it.

After all, one has to accept that another year has passed and a lot has been left behind. The only cure for that nostalgic feeling is to be excited about the future and about it bringing more beautiful experiences.

So I hope you, like me, are decorating early this year. I love to see people who are committed to being excited and hopeful. The best is yet to come for all of us!

I wish you all the best as you tune in to that Christmas feeling that is already floating in the air. Maybe you’ll meet the love of your life walking in the snow? Who knows!
