27 Baffling Design Choices Found in the Wild (February 9, 2025)

Things don’t always work out, and that’s okay. We may have been attached to a certain outcome and it didn’t come to pass, and that can hurt. Maybe you were really rooting for your team to play in the Super Bowl, and it didn’t work out. That can sting, I get it. But the problem was with the expectation in the first place. As a wise drag queen once said, «Expectations are just premeditated resentments.»

The minute you attach yourself to a certain thing, that’s the moment you know things are bound to go wrong. Because when your feelings are wrapped up in something like that, it’s hard for things to go right. The best, most zen path is remaining unattached to all the outcomes. You can still feel happy when things work out, but you weren’t hanging out hat on that probability. It’s easier said than done though, because we love to attach.
