As Robyn once famously said, «I’ll keep dancing on my own,» and we all listened. That song will definitely go down in history as one of the greatest songs of all time, point blank period. The way it builds and crescendos into the ultimate lament turned empowerment anthem… yeah. It’s incredible. 

Dancing is a great thing to do by oneself. It frees you from the shackles of feeling like to have to be good at it. Nobody is looking, so you can figure out how your body wants to move naturally– all the weird quirks and habits you have that make you you. Dancing among other people can be good too, though. It can connect you to others, moving you through song. Friends who dance together stay together. Then you’ll look back one day (with bad knees from all the grooving) and reminisce on all those special moments you shared together. It’s one of the most salient reasons to live.
