If you bought the costume, took your kids trick-or-treating, and decorated the house for Halloween, you deserve at least one piece of candy every day for the next couple of months. After all, your kids aren’t going to be able to eat it all on their own! They need family support!
I am not 100% sure, but I am 99% sure my parents took a little candy from my pillowcase every year after Halloween, and I don’t blame them at all! I always got way more candy than I knew what to do with, and they deserved a fun-sized Crunch bar just as much as I did.
I was grateful that my parents weren’t those kinds of parents who wouldn’t let me go trick-or-treating because they were too health-conscious. My hometown dentist had a program where kids could «donate» all their Halloween candy to prove they cared about their dental health, and I will always think that was so wrong. As if a little bit of Halloween candy is going to rot your teeth! I support kids believing in Santa and enjoying Halloween candy, because they only get to be kids for so long. Adults should get to be a little childish every once in a while, too. Life isn’t fun if you deny yourself every pleasure under the sun.
