Everyone has a different spice tolerance. To some, even ranch dressing borders on too much. Others could down a bottle of ghost pepper hot sauce and still save room for some Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. Odds are, at some point in your life, you’ve tested the boundaries of your spice tolerance. You’ve eagerly downed a bowl of spicy ramen just to realize that your face has turned red and you’ll probably be fighting for your life in the bathroom shortly. But it’s worth it. Spice is flavor.
Why else would we insist on keeping hot sauce on the tables of our diners and breakfast places? Because eggs are nothing without them. Why do some of us carry around a little bottle of Tajin just in case? Because you never know if you’re going to need it. Why do we have a celebrity interview show revolving around eating hot chicken wings? Because spice makes you vulnerable.
