This new mom was already under duress while giving birth to her first baby, but unfortunately for her, she had an overbearing (borderline tyrannical) mother-in-law to exasperate her fears and commandeer the delivery room. 

Giving birth is insane. I don’t have any children of my own, but just the idea of creating a human person in your body, then pushing them out in front of an audience of nurses? IT’S WILD! The miracle of childbirth is already an overwhelming and semi-terrifying prospect, but with a mother-in-law who’s completely forgotten the stress of the birthing room lurking over your shoulder, things can get far worse. 

And an epidural isn’t going to numb the pain you feel from family drama in the delivery room.
