People love to dismiss an idea by saying «That’s the stuff of science fiction.» They mean it to say that it’s impossible, or at the very least improbable. But things from science fiction happen in our real world all of the time. I mean we have robot assistants, generative artificial intelligence, space tourism, and clothes that change color when you step out in the sun. I mean what more could you want? Seriously, I think we’re good on inventions for now. Maybe we should cool it and start thinking about how to make the things we already have better. Like AirPods.
They’re nice and all, but sometimes one will run out of battery way faster than another. What’s the deal with that? Or printers. I don’t have to tell you how much is wrong with printers and has been for my entire life. That way, we can leave the science fiction to the movies.
