‘I feel like the villain in my own house’: Entitled mom insists grad student kid give up their room to their pregnant sister for 3 months, despite paying rent and being in school full-time

Being a full-time student is hard, especially in higher education, where you’re expected to cover most of your own expenses with a budget that is supposed to materialize out of thin air. Sure, that’s why financial aid exists, but not everyone has the bandwidth to take out loans that’ll land and keep them in hot water for years to come (speaking from personal experience).

This is why a lot of students choose to live at home during their college years. Some live rent-free with their parents, while others put in financial contributions here and there to help their family make ends meet and practice responsible spending. Both of these choices are good parenting in their own ways, but the parents in this next story are dropping the ball a bit.

A graduate student’s parents insist that they move out of their room so their pregnant sister, who is currently between apartments, can exist peacefully in the home.
