Filming has officially begun for the upcoming Harry Potter HBO Max show (yes, they have finally changed the name back to HBO Max), and HBO has released pictures of the actors playing Harry and Hagrid. You might think that for a new show, they’d be going for a slightly modernized look that sets this show apart from the film series. If you thought that, you couldn’t be more wrong. The actor’s styling looks nearly indistinguishable from Daniel Radcliffe’s and Robbie Coltrane’s, so the question remains: What will make this version better? Sure, they might include a scene or two from the books that were initially cut out of the movies, but what else? I have a sneaking suspicion it’s going to look like a low-budget duplicate of the original films, and that won’t go over well with fans. Why would you want a worse version of something you’ve already had on DVD for the past 15 years?
