Being a parent is an uphill battle.
Some days are easy. Some days, all you have to worry about is dropping them off at school and picking them up. Doesn’t sound that hard, right? Wrong. These two simple tasks are some of the hardest to do in reality. They don’t feel like getting up in the morning, so it’s a battle. They’re asking you complicated questions about physics while you’re making a tricky left turn, and you accidentally snap at them. Then, when you pick them up, they’re burned out from a long day, and one question about how a test went will leave you all with tears in your eyes. Yes, even the smallest tasks can be huge when it comes to children.
This is why we all need a break every now and then. Hopefully, we have scheduled time away from our progeny so we can enjoy the full spectrum of freedom that comes with being an adult. But let’s be real, these times are often few and far between. We need something to tide us over in the meantime.
