If you live in the States, you know that Thanksgiving Day is sacred. Sure, lots of people will have to work that day because time keeps on ticking and essential workers still have to provide their essential function, but the rest of us with non-essential jobs get the day off. Period. This is especially true if you’re a student. Thanksgiving is a day you get off, no questions asked. It’s just the way our society is set up. But that doesn’t stop some folks from trying to take advantage of that. Some folks are Scrouges at heart and do not want to see other people experience joy. Or, just as likely, some people only think of themselves and their needs and fail to think about how their actions might impact others. The professor in this story was one of the two.
When a class of students all got an email regarding Thanksgiving break, they couldn’t have imagined what they were in for. Then they kept reading the email. Pretty soon, they were left scrambling, wondering what to do with their holidays.
