Should people have the right to reserve a public parking space?

Any driver who has wasted countless minutes crawling around a packed parking lot has probably thought that the answer to this question should be yes. However, when everybody who wants to park their car has the same opinion, things can get pretty chaotic very quickly. First come, first-served is a system that is in place with most public parking for a reason.

One of the most irritating things about having a car as your main form of transport is having a place to leave it when you use it for its intended purpose. As such, it is no wonder that some drivers get a territorial form of road rage when it comes to finding a parking space. There are certain locations where doing such a thing can prove to be a real challenge, despite the fact that you require a car to get there.

When taking the car somewhere, the best thing you can do is give yourself plenty of time to figure out the parking situation before you actually get where you’re going. You never know what problems may arise if you do not time things the right way. While it is not always possible to be so fastidiously organized, it is a way of operating that helps minimize those frustrating incidents when there is no suitable place to put your vehicle. It is not a pleasant situation to be in, not least if you have to be somewhere in a hurry.
