22 Memes to Make People in Customer Service Feel Heard and Appreciated

How many of the hardest jobs can you name without Googling it?

Working in customer service is one of the hardest jobs in existence. You have to deal with people all the time. That is exhausting in and of itself, especially if you’re an introverted person. But what makes it worse is that those people you’re tending to most of the time don’t even appreciate it. If you spend many years in the same line of work then it’s bound to do wonders for your mental health…

I’ll be fully transparent with you: I’ve never really worked in customer service myself, and for a good reason. I don’t have the patience or the good-natured character for it. The world will be a lot safer as long as I stay away from any type of daily contact with people. However, I have friends and family who have worked or still work in customer service, and they have a lot of stories to tell. Some of them are pretty funny. Some others would make excellent horror movies.

Of course, some are the usual pain in the neck: indecisive people who can’t figure out what to order at a restaurant, customers who enter the place five minutes before closing and expect a full two-hour service, and the usual Karen who comes in without even saying hello. Others simply can’t understand the most basic of sentences. Like saying, «we’re out of croissants» and them answering, «then I’ll have a chocolate croissant.» What is wrong with you, people? Do you actually enjoy making your server’s life miserable? I wouldn’t put it past some.

Of course, workers simply stand there with a smile plastered on their faces, begging the universe to give them the patience they’re running out of. They solve our issues, help us decide, and never make us feel like an absolute bother, which, most of the time, we are.

So, these memes are for all my dear people in customer service. We see you, we know of your plight, and though we can’t make it better, we sure can make you laugh for a good while!
