It’s a soul-crushing job, but somebody has to do it.

Honestly, we all need to give thanks for the fact that there are people out there who are willing to work in customer-facing roles, in particular the notoriously difficult industries of retail and hospitality. It is an unfortunate truth that the general public is comprised of many deeply annoying individuals, and these individuals often love nothing more than going to a shop or a restaurant and giving a minimum wage employee a hard time for no good reason. It’s how they get their kicks.

Even many of the less offensive types of customers can prove to be draining. There are plenty who walk into an establishment and proceed to act like it is their first day on earth, relying on those working there to hold their hand through the entire process. It may be what they get paid for, but it can be a pain nonetheless.

Of course, not every customer is going to be a nightmare. Some of them even manage to be an absolute delight. Plus, there are even people who genuinely enjoy the unique challenges of providing good customer service, no matter how annoying or entitled the customer happens to be. What a blessing they are. Nonetheless, it isn’t wrong to want to blow off some steam with regard to dealing with customers, and memes offer the perfect vehicle to do that. The humor is what can save a bad shift from being a terrible one, or at least offer the appropriate amount of sympathy.
