Yes, you have to gather the courage and decide that your Monday starts now. You have to be determined. So, open your laptop, wait for the coffee to be ready, and try to remember what you left undone by Friday afternoon while your inbox is loading all your unread messages. That’s basically my routine, as I’m a remote worker. Working from home changes the scenery but not exactly the feeling. Remote employees avoid the commute, which is definitely an advantage. I can’t complain about that. But a comfortable blanket can become a dangerous rival to productivity. Your cat can also demand so much attention that he can step on your keyboard and delete the document you were working on without letting you save your last changes. That last one happened to a friend. Oh, you thought it was me? Nooo. This isn’t a personal anecdote. Stop making assumptions. 

Office workers, on the other hand, also have their own Monday morning rituals. The conversations beside the coffee machine, the lunches packed with no time but the best intentions, the greetings to the coworkers when you start your shift. The truth is, there is only one person you are genuinely waiting to see. Your work bestie. What would you even talk about all day if they suddenly decided to take a sick day? No, Monday is not the day for that. Please come to work. We have so much weekend tea to spill here at the office.
