Is millennial nostalgia a normal response to being an adult or just the only way to deal with the current state of the world?

Is sad to see that most things that millennial kids used to do are gone. And I don’t just mean they are out of trend. I mean that they have been literally eliminated. There are no more creative phones with different colors and ways to open them. There aren’t different songs coming out of them when somebody calls. There is no going to skateboard in the street during summer. There is no more Blockbuster to rent a movie for movie night with friends. The world that they used to know doesn’t exist anymore. Normally, it would be fine: you grow up, things change, you change, you are not going to continue doing the same things you did as a kid. But it’s sad how impactful the change was. Generation Z has none of that. I wouldn’t even mention the Alphas. There’s no residue left from those glory days. 

So what do we have? AI memes that don’t make sense, 6-7 jokes and songs that are horrible, kids that only look at their iPads all day and are lacking all social skills? This is the worst possible outcome. Childhood is over, at least the good kind. And not having anything left from the good days is deeply sad. Millennials had everything. Gen Alpha just has the internet. So maybe it’s important to go back to the roots. Give them an analog camera to take pictures, forbid them to be all day on their phones, make them go out to play. It’s important that they have a life and create memories that can be compared to the ones the millennial kids had. So, just these, let’s go down memory lane and remember what it was like to live like this. To actually have a childhood worth remembering. To enjoy it with other people in the same space, in real life, not over the internet. To do something that will be worthy to remember when the childhood face is over.
