What is the point of going out for a coffee if you won’t accompany it with a sweet treat? Donuts are the best coffee companion. 

The day feels ordinary. Today is a day like any other. Until the moment you head to the office and suddenly decide to surprise your coworkers with a box of twelve donuts. Your day automatically improves, and not only yours, but everyone else’s. They’re going to love you. Who wouldn’t? My face would light up if I saw a coworker opening the door with their elbow, carrying a Dunkin Donuts box and coming straight at my desk. Good morning to me! 

Arriving with donuts is a pleasant way to become popular without having to say much. You open the box, and the sprinkles do the rest. Someone will come over, and someone else will announce it to the rest of the group. Then there’s always that person who says that they only want half… 

Yeah, right. Five minutes later, they return for the other half. It was obvious. Why do you lie to us? And more importantly, why do you lie to yourself? 

And there’s also that one coworker who cuts several different donuts into pieces so they can try everything. Now that’s strategy. They have the right idea. I can’t judge their intentions. I would love to try every flavor too. But the problem is that the box ends up looking like a crime scene. Cutting the donuts into pieces should be illegal. Sometimes there’s a point in life where you have to make a choice, and standing in front of a box of donuts is one of those times. Pick your favorite donut and let the rest of us have a regular donut that’s still in one piece. Just like grown-ups do. I would totally pick the one with the most sprinkles.
