What was your favorite gift from Santa Claus when you were a kid? Did you believe in Santa? At some point in every kid’s life, they’re forced to face the facts of the holiday season. But for a few brief years (some longer than others), the magic of Christmas doesn’t lie in the truth or reality, but in the inexplicable moments caught like an everlasting snowflake on your nose. 

Happy family dinners, your parents holding hands by the fire, and siblings building snowmen in the yard–Perfect moments aren’t just the ones that aren’t real and the magic of Christmastime, especially as a kid, are the ones that stick firmly in our minds.

So even if we know that Santa Claus mysteriously has the same handwriting as Mom and the same wrapping paper as Auntie June, we allowed the magic to float into us like a Christmas carol, perking up our smiles with a single silvery note and making spirits bright. Oh, what fun it was to be a kid back then, when there were no phones and no computers, just unbridled imagination and childlike wonders to sparkle brighter than the brightest Christmas tree.
