There are many things that we can blame the internet for, including our decreased attention span and general loss of faith in humanity. However, one of the factors that most impacts our everyday thought processes is that it has made us fussier. No longer can we be amused by the water cooler joking of our more offline co-workers; only the finest in niche and relatable memery can flick the dopamine switch. Yes, it makes us all kind of worse and more annoying people, yet at the same time it shows that we’re people of taste. Extremely weird taste, to be sure, but we can pass that off as being fashionable.
