Life comes at you fast, as some like to say. One day, you are just bubbling along, business as usual, and then all of a sudden something arrives out of the blue that completely changes your circumstances, outlook, or both. The most annoying thing is there are just certain things over which we have no control, and we have no choice but to accept our fate. 

Luckily, looking at memes is a choice we can make actively, where our change in mood from bored to entertained is swift but all under our control and subject to our own personal whims as opposed to whatever surprises the universe has in store for us. It doesn’t mean we are any more immune to rapid shifts in our future path, but spending more time on our phone scrolling through funny pictures can give us a semblance of control that isn’t always easy to find elsewhere.
