It’s not easy to be a creative in the U.S. these days. Even New York City, a mecca for artists, is becoming unlivable. I say that as an artist who has to have one full-time office job and two side hustles to be an artist. And I live in the stereotypical itty bitty Brooklyn studio that has roaches and no sunlight but is still almost $2k a month. «Then move out of the city to somewhere more affordable to do your art!» Yes, yes. I hear you, but like, it’s not that easy. NYC is so inspirational. It’s not just a city, it’s a muse. Plus, my whole life is here. But anyways, this isn’t about me.
