As the most sentient species we know, human beings are blessed with a gift not seen in many animals: a sense of self-awareness. Unfortunately, though, this is more developed in some people than in others. Along with the knowledge that we can embarrass ourselves comes the realization that others can also be extremely embarrassing, and they do this with alarming frequency. It’s only been over the past decade or so, though, that this tendency has gone from something that might get you bullied at school to a phenomenon easily shared with millions of unsuspecting strangers on the internet for them to laugh and/or wince at. A lot of the time, this isn’t a good thing. However, there is no denying that many of us find amusement from those who step forward and provide us with the premium cringe experience. In a way, the examples on this list are doing us a public service, and for that, we thank them.
