Who should you put first, the family you were born into, or the family you created as an adult?

Even though no one should be put in a spot where they have to choose, many often find themselves in a scenario where they have to put one family in front of the other.

The son in the story below, for example, must choose between his parents and his soon-to-be child, and for him, the choice is not that hard. During his discussion in an online community, this son explained that in his family, it is customary for all children to help support their parents when they reach adulthood. Apparently, this son and his siblings have all been sending their parents money on a monthly basis, all because they were raised with the idea that it was their responsibility to support their parents financially.

However, the son and his wife are now expecting a baby, and in order to afford the expansion of the family, the son must make a choice: either keep sending his parents money or stop sending funds to avoid a financial strain when the baby comes. The choice didn’t end up being that hard to make, and the son sent his dad a kind message explaining the situation and informing him that he would no longer be sending them any money.
