The USA and the continent of Europe have a contentious social media relationship these days. It seems like a certain kind of person from the States loves nothing more than having a ‘Euro summer’, but then they get on the likes of TikTok and Twitter and complain about things like having to walk, or not being able to find water. Just enjoying the expensive vacation doesn’t seem to be an option.
The latest in the line of controversies stemming from Americans posting about being in Europe comes from one man who claimed that after spending a week on the continent, he understood why «their GDP per capita [is] half of the US». It wasn’t long before others from around the world were swooping in to protest against him. There is more to life than accumulating capital, and this includes engaging in arguments on the internet when you disagree with someone.
