What happens when a boss has to follow her own rules? She realizes that they don’t work! Or at least, not on her…
To fix a scheduling problem, a manager decided all employees had to enter all clients’ names in the booking system. That way, everyone would know who was coming to the salon. Sounds like a good rule and easy for everyone to follow, right? The problem was that this boss treated her own friends differently… friends who showed up to the salon and expected to be seated right away. Of course, that doesn’t fit the new scheduling rule.
Oh my, oh my… how many times will managers implement rules that don’t affect anyone or work in the long run? But I’m not the one blaming them! There’s a problem in the workflow, and they want it fixed, so they implement new, sometimes drastic, rules for everyone else, but not for themselves. This caused major problems for the rest of the employees and the clients.
