Would you answer a work call at 1 am?

If you’re a normal person, your answer is probably no. Unless you work the night shift or you’re a business owner who can only assume that your store is on fire, and you need to go put it out. These are the two acceptable reasons to answer a work call that late. And we all know that, unless you’re the disregulated boss in this story who couldn’t figure out how to keep their work calls to a regular hour. Business is rarely as high-stakes as the people in charge would like to make it seem. And the ones who end up suffering the most are the people who give in and refuse to set boundaries around their working time. Nobody wants to end up in that kind of situation, but it happens more often than you would think. The question remains: how do you deal with this kind of boss when they ask you to do something like that?
